Home remedies for pink eye?

vti answers:

You cannot treat it at home if it is bacterial, you will need antibiotics to treat it. If it is viral it will go away on it’s own. But you can ease the pain by washing it gently everyday with warm water and avoid scratching the sore.

Best home remedy for painful pink eye?

I got pink eye in one of my eyes today. It hurts A LOT and I can barely keep my eye open. I went to the eye doctor and got eye drops for it which I’m going to use for 5 days as directed but I was wondering if there are any natural home remedies to help reduce the pain and swelling temporarily. I heard applying tea bags can help but not sure which teas. Is melissa tea good?

vti answers:

Teabags work wonders to reduce the pain and swelling of styes, I don’t think it will do much for conjunctivitis.

You can hold warm compresses against your eye though , that will help sooth it.

Does anyone know of some home remedies for pink eye?

It is an old treatment passed down from generations to generations. Proceed on your own risk.

Take fresh clove of Garlic, peel and half it, squeeze the juice into the affected eye three times a day. It does make you tear like crazy but it works.
