Your Questions About Natural Remedies

Hair growth question. Vitamins? Thanks!?

Ok so ive been researching this all day and i would like to know once and for all which is the best vitamin for hair growth. I have heard of biotin and trader joe’s darwin pills for hair skin and nails. I have heard of some other pills also but I forgot the names. I am leaning towards the Trader Darwin pills because of the price and i haven’t heard any negative side effects. I also don’t want thicker hair, just longer. Please tell me which one of all the pills out there has worked best for you. Price and any negative side effects would be helpful too. Thanks so much.

(ps. no nasty or rude comments please saying these dont work. i know these vitamins wont work miracles but hopefully i will get longer healthy hair. I know taking care of my hair better will help but this question is about the vitamins. your cooperation is greatly appreciated.)
I have also heard people break out because of biotin. Is this true for u?

Vitamins play an essential role in hair growth. You know how they say that your health reflects the beauty outside? Well same goes for your hair. Here are a list of vitamins that might help you:

1. Biotin – 5000 mcg recommended dosage – Also good for energy, weight loss, keeps color in hair longer, regulates blood sugar (especially for people with diabetes), depression. Can’t overdose since it’s a water-soluble vitamin. BUT it’s important to up your dosage SLOWLY.

2.Silica – Up to 400 mg – Also good for healthy bones, fortifies blood vessels, repairs and maintenances vital lung tissues, stops constipation, improves elasticity of joints, prevents Alzheimer’s disease (flushes out aluminum). The highest amount of Silica can be found in Bamboo Extract, since horsetail only has about 5% per 100 mg. Http://www.jashbotanicals.com/articles/silica_and_your_body.html

3. MSM – 2000 mcg every dose (since it flushes out every 12 hours) – Also good for bones, increase alertness, eliminate pain, anti-ager

4. Vitamin E – 400 IU – Good for hair, skin, and nails

5. L-Cysteine – Good for hair, since hair is mostly made up of this protein. Without L-Cysteine, hair would be nothing.

6. Fatty Acids – Such as Evening Primrose, Borage Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oil, etc – These help because it helps make hair keep it’s moisture, which leads to hair growth.

– You can also just take a Hair, Skin, and Nails Complex. A lot of people take the GNC type, but you can also just get Nature’s Bounty from Walgreens, or The CVS brand, and they’re both the same.
OR , just take a Multi-Vitamin.

Hope this helps!

Good products or vitamins for hair growth?

Recently I’ve been noticing my hair has been thinning out since the end of March. The length of my hair is fine it’s just it’s very weak and it is slowly falling away. I’m 17 and I weight 118lbs and eat very healthy. I don’t eat red meat and try to work out as much as I can. I also use this oil that protects my hair from heat when I straighten my hair. Thanks in advance.

There are certain vitamins that help promote the growth of hair in the body. Changing to a healthier diet is vital not only for hair growth but also for the general well being of your body.

Some of the most important include:

– Essential Fatty Acids

– The B Vitamins

– Antioxidants

– Sulfur

– Zinc

But vitamins and diet are only one part of it, you should also consider adding excercise and hair loss products into your hair growth solution.

Do Prenatal Vitamins Help With Hair Growth?

My hair is extremely thin…and has only started thinning out in in the past two years, and I’m 21. I’ve heard that prenatal vitamins help stimlulate hair and nail growth. Is this true? If so, is it safe to take them daily when you’re not pregnant? And if they don’t really help with hair growth, is there anything else I can take/do to make my hair thicken a little bit?

vti answers:

Pre natal vitamins are very good to take even if your not pregnant- if your trying to get pregant or if you are pregnant- and no they wont make you more suceptable to pregnacies,,LOL,,, the reason they tell you to take pre natal is because in those vitamins they have the hightest concertration of MM so as opposed to taking a sep b12 vitamin that has like 200mg,,, in prenatal its like 500mg,,it has so many things that your body needs, nutrients etc, thats its very healthy for you,, ive been using prenatal also and it really has made my hair grow faster but also thicker,, defanitly try,, and you dont have to go to your obgy you can buy over the counter they work just as good just make sure there the more expensive ones and not the 6.99 type,,lol;-)
Good luck,, heres to long thick beautiful hair

Nancy asks…

Does vitamin e help hair growth?

I have some gel capsule/caplets things (I don’t know what to call it) of vitamin e. I am trying to get my hair to grow as fast as it can. Im also using mane n tail shampoo and conditioner. Well does vitamin e help hair growth? What are some other tips for hair growth? Thanks

vti answers:

Do an Answers search and you will see many say Vitamin E did nothing to make hair grow faster.
The Aphogee products suggested in the other answer were found in tests conducted by Skin Deep Safety Database to have highly harmful and toxic ingredients. Do an online search with “Aphogee: Skin Deep Safety Database” to see.
Mane n Tail shampoos and conditioners were also found in Skin Deep Safety Database tests to have ingredients that seriously harm hair and scalp.
Tips for hair growth:
My hair grew unbelievably fast and new growth was forced with this totally safe (and low cost) treatment and see the testimonials from happy users on Answers below ##.

First massage into scalp a pure natural oil. EV olive or EV coconut oils are excellent, and then brush quite vigorously and firmly (best with a short bristled palm held brush) so you feel it stimulating scalp (35 /45 strokes or more preferably every day). It’s OK if scalp is irritated to a degree but stop if you get soreness.

You will see new growth in as little as one or two weeks.
