Your Questions About Natural Remedies

William asks…

Good home remedies for a sore throat?

I’ve been drinking tons of water, I’m eating soup, and I’m getting some oranges and drinking cayenne pepper mixed with lemon juice to try and ward off this cold. I know I’m probably doomed, because my throat is starting to hurt and that’s a sure sign for me.

Any good home remedies for a sore throat? Preferably no honey, but I’m open to it.

vti answers:

Drinking chicken broth. I love smelling chicken broth as it comes to a boil. The smell makes me feel good too. Gargling with warm salt water. It seems you are doing your best already. Try sipping Tea with lemon. Get to bed early for plenty of rest. Take some Tylenol before you go to bed. Even a nice warm shower before bed.

Easy home remedy for a sore throat?

Any home remedies for a sore throat? I can’t drive anywhere to get anything, so please don’t tell me to go pick up cold medicine or anything. I also tried a certain kind of tea that is supposed to help, but I almost vomited trying to drink it. Any suggestions?

vti answers:

When I have a sore throat my mom makes this quick and easy drink mix that taste pretty good actually and only requires two ingredients!

First take a lemon and get the juices out of it, as much as you can. If you don’t have a lemon try a little bit of lemon juice.

Then pour a little bit of honey with the lemon juice and put it in a microwave for two to three minutes.

After that stir it, blow on it because it will be hot and enjoy!

Good luck, hope you feel better! 🙂

Does anyone know any home remedies for a sore throat?

I woke up with a really bad sore throat. It’s pretty bad but not bad enough to go see a doctor. Does anyone know any good home remedies that don’t involve gargling because gargling makes me sick?

vti answers:

You can use warm water and salt, if you don’t wanna gargle it then you could just swallow it but I suggest putting in less salt if you’re going to do that xD
You could also try hot water with lemon and honey, just put a few drops of lemon juice in and a teaspoon or two of honey and mix it together 🙂

Carol asks…

Any home remedies for a really bad sore throat?

I’m just starting to get a cold and the sore throat is killing me! Lozenges don’t often soothe enough for me, are there any home remedies which will reduce the symptoms of my cold and possibly eliminate or reduce my sore sore throat?
Thanks!

vti answers:

I agree with the honey and lemon teas which need to be slowly sipped.

Another old remedy is to dissolve an asprin or disprin and gargle for a few minutes. I have tried a few things in desperation and I personally believe this is the best remedy for me when my throat get that sore.

Depending on your symptions you could also try so aromatherapy blends to assits with the cold.

Eucalyptus oil is excellent for colds and can assist greatly with breathing. This can be placed on a tissue and inhalded or in a aromatherapy burner or diffuser.

Another excellent form of natural therapy is Reiki, if you know someone who coulc send you some it would be most beneficial.

Its your decision on how to relieve your sore throat but if it hangs around for two long you may need to see the doctor.

Cheers to improved health

Take care!

Any good home remedies to help a sore throat fell and get better quickly?!?

I got a cold on Thursday and I have a sore throat and my voice is fading in and out. I DO NOT have strep throat. Are there any home remedies that can help soothe my throat, and make it better quickly???
Any inappriate, rude, and or gross, mean things said will get a thumbs down and you will be reported. Thank you.

vti answers:

Three things always work for me when I get a sore throat…

Run hot water in a sink and almost fill it up then put a towel over your head to breathe the steam in. This will open up your sinuses really good. Then gargle with warm salt water.

I also drink a tablespoon or so of apple cider vinegar in water or apple juice for a few days straight, combined with the gargling and steam it usually kicks my sore throat pretty quick.
